People often ask, can chiropractic adjustments or manipulation help with arthritis? Researchers who conducted a randomized control trial published in The Spine Journal found that combining spinal manipulation (SMT) with home exercises (HE) was the most effective in treating neck pain in 241 patients over age 65. The combination group had a 10% greater reduction in pain after 12 weeks than the group that did home exercise only. The study found that supervised exercise sessions added little benefit to the HE- alone program.
