What is Shockwave?
Shockwave Therapy at Dr. Jill Chiropractic is the latest technology in Regenerative Medicine. This therapy harnesses high-energy acoustic waves to enhance the repair and recovery of acute and chronic pain issues.
Dr. Jill uses the most advanced Electro-Hydraulic Shockwave (EHSW) device, which uses stronger shockwaves to reach deeper tissues with less discomfort than other shockwave devices.
What does it help?
EHSW can help many upper and lower extremity conditions as well as spine issues, including (but not limited to) golfer/tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, knee pain and SI joint pain.
Most patients experience lasting benefits, especially with ongoing chiropractic care, provided the treated area is not reinjured. For conditions like neuropathy, while results may not be permanent, significant symptom relief and improved quality of life are common.
How does it help?
Clinical studies show the impulse both re-ignites the stagnant healing processes in chronic injuries AND initiates a more rapid and effective healing process of acute injuries. The mechanical energy of the shockwave triggers a cascade of reactions in the cell:
-
- New blood vessel formation: helping healing and resulting in a sustained increase in blood flow.
- Inflammation control: shuts off the inflammatory response (and pain) at the treatment site but not the healing.
- Stem cell activation: validated to recruit and activate endogenous stem cells.
Pain and range of motion is typically profoundly improved. Within a 12 week period, tissue regeneration and scar tissue resorption typically follows. EHSW is the only non-invasive treatment that elicits ALL of these regenerative benefits
Why EHSW over other treatments?
It’s non-invasive – no injections, no medications, no guessing. There is instant biofeedback, ensuring that treatment is being applied where it needs to be, and multiple areas can be treated in one session – unlike PRP and Stem Cell injections.
Compared to other shockwave devices, EHSW is non-traumatic to tissues and cells, allowing for stronger shockwaves that can reach deeper tissues than any other shockwave device. The responses are longer-lasting and require fewer & shorter treatments, simply clinically more efficient.

How many treatments will I need?
- Duration: Treatment involves 3 sessions over 3 weeks, with complete results taking up to 12 weeks. Some degenerative conditions, bone or nerve healing or less vascular tissues may require more treatments or “touch-ups.”
- Session Length: Each session lasts 15 minutes or less, with minimal downtime required.
- Contraindications: Not suitable for pregnant women, cancer patients, or individuals who have had a cortisone shot in the last six weeks.
Used by Professional Sports Teams (including MLB, NBA, NHL), Elite Athletes and Top Medical Institutions around the world.
Blood Vessel Formation
New blood vessels develop helping with initial healing, then ensuring a sustained improvement in blood flow.
Inflammation Control
Toll-Like Receptors initiate a three-phase inflammatory response. Initially, inflammation aids in healing and then subsides once its role is fulfilled, reducing pain and chronic inflammation.
Stem Cell Migration
Over a period of 8 weeks or more, promotes the body’s own stem cell production for joint and tissue repair without the need for surgery or injections.
